26 Dec Porcelain Veneers: Are They Right For You?
Porcelain Veneers are thin shells of porcelain that are used to change the way a tooth looks. They can help change the shape, length, size or color and will dramatically improve your smile. It is very important to get the right fit or you may end up with veneers that look like Chiclets, circa Matt Dillon in Something About Mary.
Veneers are most commonly used for:
- Teeth that are discolored (due to root canal, stains, or old resin fillings)
- Teeth that are worn down
- Teeth that are chipped or broken
- Teeth that are misaligned, uneven, or irregularly shaped
- Teeth with gaps between them
When it comes to keeping your pearly whites, white, there are many culprits that cause discoloration. Coffee and tea lead the pack, with wine, soda and candy right behind them. What do these all have in common? They are all very acidic. Their erosive nature damages the enamel allowing the stain to take hold. Make sure you at least rinse your mouth out after you eat, however, brushing is preferred.
The moral of the story here is to take care of the teeth you have. If you end up with an issue that is deserving of veneers, make sure you contact us to get an appointment. Our in house team will make sure that you get long-lasting veneers that will bring you the results you desire.
