Dr. Mark Gross and Dr. Andrew Kaplan own and operate Dental Partners of 5th Avenue in NYC, and have been practicing dentistry together for over 30 years. This year, however, will be different. Over the next year, the dental experts will be transforming their practice to showcase some unique and outstanding artwork for a cause that is near and dear to their hearts, helping children in need of dental care. Beginning with their very first artist showcase on May 9, 2013 called “SHINE“… featuring original paintings by Christel Ibsen and photo prints by Sarah Millet, which will be available for purchase. 20% of the fee from each painting or photo purchased will go to Operation Smile and Dental Volunteers for Israel. What’s best part about this event? Anyone who purchases artwork will have the opportunity to make their check out directly to the charity… so you know your donation is going straight to this important cause.

As the largest volunteer-based medical charity, Operation Smile provides free surgical care to children born with a cleft lip and palate. Without this surgery one in ten of those children will not live to see their first birthday. Operation Smile has provided free, life-saving surgery to over 200,000 children in 60 countries to date.

The largest free dental clinic, Dental Volunteers for Israel (DVI) offers free dental care and education to the children of Israel, regardless of race or religion. Since 1980, thanks to volunteers from all over the world, DVI has cared for at-risk-children and youths. In 2012, over 3,000 children were treated through the organization, with a total of over 12,000 dental visits.

Dr. Mark Gross and Dr. Andrew Kaplan believe it is important to help children all over the world shine. With a collaboration between the Dental Partners of 5th Avenue, Christel Ibsen, Sarah Millet, Operation Smile, the Dental Volunteers for Israel and you… that dream can become one step closer to reality.
