We know it’s sometimes difficult to smile, especially if it’s a Monday morning. But you might be surprised how easy it would be to hit it off with someone by just using the hidden power of smiling. The Valentine’s Day season is upon us. You see cute teddy bears with heart eyes everywhere, boxes of chocolates and can smell the overpriced flower bouquets from a distance and then it hits you – I’m so single! But why?! It’s cuffing season after all. So what are you doing wrong? If you hate smiling, that just might be the reason why you’re still single.

According to studies, your smile makes you far more attractive than any makeup or body type. By smiling, you are perceived as healthier and radiant rather than miserable and sad.

Researchers at Swansea University asked volunteers how the subjects seemed to them when they were smiling and almost every response was that those with genuine smiles were healthy and glowing. Another study by Golle, Mast & Lobmaier used a computerized software to change facial shapes. Participants would see identical faces with only changes in happiness. For the most part, participants chose the smiling faces as more attractive from the pair. What was particularly interesting was the fact that men who were smiling in the pictures were seen as even more attractive than women. So, gentlemen, you don’t have to act tough and mysterious all the time! Show off your amazing smile.

Smiling is also proven to lead to a longer and healthier life. It makes you look healthier inside and outside. So when you find your significant other you could end up living a longer and healthier life with them! Stop worrying if your hair is perfect or your skin is flawless.
