Summertime Dental Tips If You’re Traveling Abroad

Summertime Dental Tips

Summertime and living is easy, however, that doesn’t apply when it comes to your teeth. If you’re traveling this month, you might want to check out our summertime dental tips.

When you’re so overwhelmed with packing and running last minute errands, it’s easy to forget those beautiful pearly whites of yours. Therefore, make sure you create a checklist when it comes to your teeth as well. Here’s what you should do before during and after the flight to preserve that lovely smile of yours.

1. Make an appointment!

Very important – before you leave, make an appointment with your dentist to make sure that your teeth are in perfect condition. You know – flying, high-pressure and loose or cracked fillings don’t mix well. Trust me – you don’t want to figure that out 10,000 miles above the ground. Make sure you see your dentist before stepping onto the plane.

2. Oral Care Sky High.

Next step is just as crucial. Make sure to bring a travel-size toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash & dental floss. We can never stress enough the importance of flossing. If you don’t have any of these, make sure to rinse your mouth with a glass of water or ask to borrow the toothpaste from someone else and use your fingers instead of a toothbrush.

3. Keep on Chewing!

If anything, please make sure you bring a pack of gums. They, however, need to have an ADA seal and need to be sugarless. Chewing on such a gum for at least 20 minutes protects you from cavities and additionally, release the ear tension. There you go, double the benefits!

4. Follow-Up & Resume the Routine!

Upon your return home, make sure to make an appointment with your dentist for a follow-up check-up. If you’ve neglected your teeth a bit on your trip, no need to beat yourself up, please resume your regular oral care routine & if needed, see your dentist.
