Jaws, Alien, Predator… they’re the movies that have made us cringe in horror. They’ve also featured some scary sets of chompers. With that said… we’ve put together a list of the top five scariest movie monster teeth. Some of these are so horrifying… they’ll make you want to schedule that check-up appointment with your dentist sooner rather than later.

1. Jaws, directed by Steven Spielberg, is the story of a giant man-eating great white shark who attacks beach-goers in a summer resort town. The advertising agency hired to design the famous theatrical release poster spent six months perfecting it. Their goal was to make it look as scary as possible by showing those famous pointy teeth.
2. Alien, directed by Ridley Scott, is about a highly aggressive creature that stalks and kills the crew of a spaceship. It was the first of six franchise films. A system of hinges and cables were used to operate the alien’s rigid tongue, which protruded from the main mouth and had a second mouth at the tip of it with its own set of movable and frightening teeth.
3. Predator, directed by John McTiernan, is the story of an elite special forces team on a mission to rescue hostages in Central America, when they’re unknowingly being hunted by a technologically advanced life form. The Predator has piranha-like teeth on the upper jaw and dryer, and less clammy skin to further differentiate them from the Alien.
4. Jurassic Park, directed by Steven Spielberg, centers on a fictional island near Costa Rica, where a billionaire philanthropist and a small team of scientists have created an amusement park of cloned dinosaurs. That’s where a Tyrannosaurus Rex (T-Rex) with banana sized razor sharp teeth, among others, attacks a tour group.
5. Nosferatu, directed by F.W. Murnau, is a 1922 silent horror film eerily similar to the story of Bram Stoker’s Dracula. The film did not require talking to frighten the audience. All they needed to see was Count Orlok’s scary fangs and long creepy fingernails.
